Nominate a star of local sport
NOW is the time for you to nominate your local sporting heroes for a prestigious accolade. The Lancashire Sports Awards are a celebration of local sporting achievement.
These pay tribute to those, both young and old, who show dedication to perform at the highest level or those who work tirelessly to support individuals or clubs week in, week out, simply for the love of sport.
West Lancashire Borough Council is inviting local clubs, individuals and schools to put forward their nominations for the following categories: Active Workplace. Adult Volunteer of the Year. Coach of the Year. Community Club of the Year. Community Project of the Year. Contribution to Wormen’s Participation. Lifetime achievement. Primary School of the Year. Secondary School of the Year. Service to Disability Sport. Young Achiever of the Year. Young Volunteer of the Year. Dave Tilleray, director of leisure and wellbeing, said: “West Lancashire has numerous sporting heroes who compete or give up their time to help others compete.
“They deserve recognition for their efforts, so please send us your nominations.”
Nominees must come from or represent the West Lancashire area.
Successful nominees will be invited to represent the borough at the Lancashire Sports Awards ceremony, where the overall regional winners in each category will be crowned.
Closing date for West Lancashire nominations is Friday, August 24.
The local winners of each category are automatically put forward to represent West Lancashire at the Lancashire Sports Awards on Friday, November 24 at The Hilton Hotel, Blackpool.
