Church’s doors are always open

-

HOLY Trinity Church in Bickerstaffe held a special commemorative service for its new internal church doors.

The doors replace the original ones and have glass panels, making the church brighter and more welcoming.

People can now be seen coming into church and this means anyone who needs support can be seen as they approach.

This is the first stage of internal improvements: some pews are also to be modified in due course.

Edward McCarthy said: “The doors are funded from a legacy in memory of Mrs Rhoda Critchley who was a well-loved church goer.

“The church was awarded funding from the Big Lottery Fund last autumn which has also contributed to the doors project and some additional heater units for inside the church.

“We would like to thank the Critchley family for this generous contribution, the doors really make a difference and will be there for many, many years to come.

“If you would like to see our lovely new doors why not come to one of our services, Sunday mornings at 10.45am.”

At the same service, a new lectern bible was donated and blessed in memory of Dennis Morris.
