Day of fun for schools

-

AN ORMSKIRK primary school came to the rescue when pupils from a neighbouring school missed out on a planned trip.

Year six students from Westhead Lathom St James’ were invited for a day of fun and games at Ormskirk CofE after their visit to London was cancelled.

In the morning, pupils enjoyed team-building exercises that their hosts had learned on their recent trip to YMCA.

Later, both schools took part in a special triathlon.

Competitors started with a swim, then a run around the school grounds, followed by a lap using go-karts and finished with a celebratory jump on a bouncy castle.

Ormskirk CofE Headteacher Giles Storch said: “This was a fantastic opportunity to build friendships in preparation for high school as well as giving all the year six children a day to remember.

“Years two to five will have opportunity to complete our triathlon over the coming days.”

The triathlon fun continued the following week when Spanish children from Lanzarote visited their year three pen pals who they had been in contact with all year.
