SOUTHPORT couple Bob and June Percy will be celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary on July 27, 2017.
Bob Percy and June Snape married at St John’s Church in Birkdale on July 27, 1957.
They first met as teenagers – he was a keen cyclist with a job repairing typewriters and she was a keen Morris dancer with a typewriter that needed repairing.
He made such a good job of it that she agreed to go on a date with him at the Garrick Theatre on Lord Street.
Sixty years, two children and two grandchildren later, at 86 and 82 respectively, Bob and June are still very happily married.
