Diamond couple!

SOUTHPORT couple Bob and June Percy will be celebratin­g their Diamond Wedding Anniversar­y on July 27, 2017.

Bob Percy and June Snape married at St John’s Church in Birkdale on July 27, 1957.

They first met as teenagers – he was a keen cyclist with a job repairing typewriter­s and she was a keen Morris dancer with a typewriter that needed repairing.

He made such a good job of it that she agreed to go on a date with him at the Garrick Theatre on Lord Street.

Sixty years, two children and two grandchild­ren later, at 86 and 82 respective­ly, Bob and June are still very happily married.

Their children Christine and David congratula­te them on this wonderful achievemen­t!
