Stewart aims to win league with Skem

SKELMERSDALE United are continuing to add new talent to the squad ahead of the new 2017-18 season.

Manager Alan Rogers has already introduced several new signings as Skem look to bounce back from a disappointing campaign.

The club’s latest addition is young midfielder Jack Stewart who has joined from League One side Rochdale.

The youngster becomes the club’s sixth signing after he was offered a contract following a successful trial period.

As part of his trial, he featured in the 2-0 defeat against Northwich Victoria last week and was impressive throughout.

Stewart has progressed through the youth ranks at Rochdale and was an unused substitute in the first team squad last November.

He also featured in the Lancashire Senior cup semi-final defeat against Liverpool three months ago so he hopes to make a similarly good impression with Skelmersdale.

On his move to Skem, Stewart said: “I am looking forward to hopefully winning the league and securing promotion for Skelmersdale.”

Alan Rogers added: “Jack [Stewart] is a fantastic talent with determination to learn and improve. He will be a huge asset for us this coming season.”
