BURSCOUGH FC and Southport FC have rearranged their cancelled pre-season friendly.

Southport pulled out of the game which was due to be played at Victoria Park after they deemed the pitch ‘not suitable’ to play on.

Burscough and Southport have now reached an agreement to play a friendly game at the Merseyrail Community Stadium on Tuesday July 25th.

Southport Chairman James Treadwell said: “I proposed that we host a pre-season friendly at The Merseyrail Community Stadium and we offered a date to Burscough on Sunday evening.”

Mike Swift, Chairman of Burscough FC, said: “I’m delighted that our football management have been able to promptly slot in the new fixture and we appreciate the share of the gate receipts.”
