They’ve got it off Pat for jazz gig!
GUITARIST Pat McCarthy Quartet is bringing ‘All that Jazz’ to Tarleton later this month.
Pat will be leading his acclaimed quartet for a night of spellbinding performance in Tarleton Library.
The gig takes place on Thursday, November 30 at 6pm, with tickets priced at £9 adult / £7 concession.
Hailed as ‘world class’ by icon Humphrey Lyttelton, the quartet features Pat alongside Thom Whitworth (trumpet), Warren Jolly (double bass) and Shannon Reilly (vocals).
They present a melodic repertoire of jazz and swing standards, from 1930s classics to the new generation of jazz hits.
Shannon’s vocal influences include Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day and Peggy Lee.
“This is superb music that manages to pull off that difficult trick of having a broad appeal whilst still satisfying the jazz connoisseur” – Gill Wilde, Jazz Promoter of the Year
Tickets for the show can be purchased at the library direct or via email tarleton.library@lancashire. gov.uk
The show forms part of Spot On Lancashire’s autumn season of touring, taking professional arts events to village halls and libraries across the county.
Speaking ahead of the performance, Spot On’s Lyndsey Wilson said: “I had the opportunity to see the quartet at Manchester International Jazz Festival and was wowed by their beautiful, effortless musicianship matched with a fabulous performance style.
“The show is a perfect way to relax and enjoy an evening of the sweetest sounds, coolest ‘standards’ and all that jazz - you are guaranteed a great evening.”
