Parks are the hub of fun at Christmas
THERE is lots of festive fun for people to enjoy at free seasonal events organised by West Lancashire Borough Council’s Parks and Countryside Service in December.
This Saturday, December 2, you can go along to Winter Crafts at Beacon Country Park Visitor Centre, starting at 2pm.
The Rangers will be using natural materials found in their parks to create a variety of seasonal decorations for your home or garden.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Depending on weather conditions this event may be held outside, so please dress appropriately for the time of year.
Booking is required for this event. Please call 01695 622794 to arrange.
A similar event will be held at the bowling pavilion at Coronation Park, Ormskirk, on Sunday, December 10.
Booking is required for this event. Please call Anne on 01695 570258.
More seasonal fun takes place on Monday, December 4 with a Christmas carol concert at the Coronation Park Bandstand, starting at 6.30pm.
People can join Ormskirk District Scouts and the Salvation Army Band to sing their hearts out. The event is free to attend.
Please note that in the case of bad weather the concert will move inside at Ormskirk Parish Church.
Councillor Yvonne Gagen, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “Don’t miss these great fun events for all the family as they will really help to get you in the festive mood.”
