Slimmer is to help others weigh up their futures

-

A SLIMMER who transformed her life by losing more than two stones is using her success to shape a new career helping other people achieve their weight loss dreams.

Evette Terrell-Parkin joined her local Slimming World group in Leyland five years ago and dropped from 10st 11lb to 8st 5lb.

Now she is opening her own group in Hesketh Bank at Hesketh Bank Community Centre.

She said: “For the last two years at my group I have been part of the social team helping to weigh members.

“I thoroughly enjoy this role and look forward to it every week.

“I have been inspired, by one of our lovely members, to become a Slimming World consultant myself.

“Karen started our group in January 2017.

“She has lost an amazing seven stone up to now, and is still going strong.

“Watching her journey and seeing the total transformation really made me want to help and support members of my own to achieve amazing results for themselves.”

Evette has now trained as a consultant at Slimming World’s national training academy in Derbyshire.

The latest government figures reveal that around one in four adults are obese and it is estimated that, by 2034, this will increase to one in three.

Evette said her new role has never been more important.

She said: “Obesity is becoming such a huge issue across the UK.

“When I first joined Slimming World as a member, I never dreamed that I would end up helping other people to lose weight but now I just can’t wait to get started.”

Her group will be held at Hesketh Bank Community Centre every Saturday at 9.00am from January 6.
