Community Link Foundation

- BY NICOLA KENYON visiternews@southportvisiter.co.uk

COMMUNITY Link Foundation has been able to make a difference to people’s lives through the fundraising that it does.

The charity that covers Southport, Formby, Ormskirk, Burscough, Hesketh Bank, Rufford, Banks and the areas in between, distributes grants to people, organisations and community groups who are in need of funding to improve their lives.

Recent examples of ways that grants have been used include buying portable goalposts for a busy local football team and money for a trike to help a little girl improve her mobility after an operation.

We receive applications for grants when people hear about us through our website, through word of mouth or through this column.

Our board members then get together to consider the grant applications and ensure they meet the criteria.

We are only able to help the applicants due to the fundraising that our supporters do.

We would love to hear from people who can help us with fundraising this year.

The more support we get, the more people we can help.

Support can come in many forms, whether it’s running a 10k for sponsorship, or putting a collection bucket on your reception desk at work.

We have had people hold cake sales for us, organise quiz nights, and run marathons.

There are plenty of ways to fundraise and we will be there to guide and support you if you would be interested in helping Community Link Foundation.

Enda Rylands, chairman of Community Link Foundation, said: “It would be great to hear from anyone who would like to work with us to do some fundraising.

“They can be assured that the money that is raised will be used to enhance the lives of people in the local community.

“The more support that we get fundraising, the more people we can help.

“We are very grateful for all the support that we get and we’d love to hear from you.”

People can get in touch with Community Link Foundation through the website www.clfoundation.co.uk or message us on social media.
