TWO rising hip-hop stars from America are set to perform in Lancashire this West week.

MegaRan and Sammus, from the USA, are to play a live show at E-Rooms, in Skelmersdale, on Friday. February 23.

This performance will be part of their UK tour, and they will be supported by local rappers.

The venue, which has a capacity of 200 people, aims to engage youths with music tuition, classes, social mentoring and hosting touring artists.

The managing director of E-Rooms, Steve Horrocks, said: “The E-Rooms is a community organisation which was established to engage the region’s young with music.

“We hold music lessons and classes daily and gigs people every Friday and Saturday nights, along with providing rehearsal space for bands nightly.

“A lot of our young people have put a lot of time into bringing this gig together.”

Headliners Mega Ran and Sammus are perhaps best known for using video game soundtracks in their music.

Mega Ran, a former teacher from Arizona, has signed a licensing deal with Japanese video game developers Capcom who are known for producing the video games Resident Evil, Streetfighter and Devil May Cry.

Similarly, Sammus, from New York, has signed with NuBlack Music Group, which has enabled her to open shows for well-respected artists in America. The American artists are also set to hold a meet and greet before the gig, so they can meet their fans.

Local artists Profit, The Surgeon, RazorRawks and Marx will also be performing on the night.

Tickets are available to purchase on the door of the event for £10 each, and doors will open at 8pm.
