Man on £14m drugs plot charge
A SKELMERSDALE man is among those charged with conspiracy to import drugs - after millions of pounds worth were discovered by police.
Three men were arrested by officers from Titan, the North West regional organised crime unit, on Saturday, February 24.
The arrests came after officers raided industrial premises in Spindus Road, in Speke, at 6.15am on Friday, February 23, as part of a joint investigation with Lancashire police.
The men were arrested and a large quantity of cocaine, with an estimated street value of £13.9m, was recovered from the scene.
Further searches were carried out in Skelmersdale, which resulted in a seizure of heroin valued at £100,000 and about £60,000 in cash.
Stephen Andrew Kelly, 55, of Charnock, Skelmersdale, has been charged with conspiracy to import cocaine and possession with intent to supply heroin.
Bradley Stephen Kelly, 35, of Vernon Way, Bloxwich, Walsall, has been charged with conspiracy to import cocaine.
Polish national, Grezegorz Krzyk, 37, was charged with conspiracy to import cocaine.
They appeared at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 26, for the indictable-only offences.
The men will remain in custody until the case is heard at Liverpool Crown Court on March 26.
