PHRASED & Confused and Unity Theatre presents Horny Handed Tons of Soil at Edge Hill University’s Rose Theatre, The Arts Centre on Friday, April 13, 7.30pm. The city is alive. Wandering the streets, The Child, The Poet and Death trace memories and map dreams onto a landscape shifting under the spell of time.

Inspired by the incredible work of world-renowned Mersey poet Adrian Henri, Horny Handed Tons of Soil fuses beat poetry with folk song; electronic composition with live brass and percussion and documentary film with theatrical storytelling.

The words are by Lizzie Nunnery; music by Martin Heslop, Martin Smith and Vidar Norheim, and all four will perform.

Horny Handed Tons of Soil was originally produced by Unity Theatre in response to the 50th anniversary year of the Mersey Sound, following a P&C, Unity Theatre and Liverpool Acoustic Festival seed commission in 2016.

It has been supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

Tickets: £10/£8 concessions/ £5 Edge Hill University students.

Admission is free for Edge Hill University students with Arts Centre Membership.
