Steam springs into action again

-

AFTER the excitement and celebrations of West Lancashire Light Railway’s 50th anniversary season, 2018 isn’t quite as action-packed but all the family favourite events will still be taking place.

This includes providing a full programme of Sunday afternoon steam, Bank Holiday and special events for families and railway enthusiasts alike.

This may also be the year in which the future of the site, and of the railway, is finally decided.

All those who have enjoyed the railway as well as its volunteers very much hope that its future is here, as a unique asset of Hesketh Bank and the neighbouring villages.

The Easter steam event will launch the new season tomorrow, Good Friday, March 30, 11.30am-4.30 pm.

The Easter programme features the very popular Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, April 1-2.

That will be hosted by our Easter Bunnies, who will lead the way in the hunt for the missing Easter Eggs.

Youngsters will need to fill in the missing letters and ask the rabbit for a prize.

Tickets are valid all day for as many rides as you like: adult £4.50, children £3 (under three free), senior £3.50, family £12.

Coming up after Easter will be the Friendly Engines Day on Sunday, April 22.

This is a chance for the younger railway enthusiast to see the Friendly Engines up close.

West Lancashire Light Railway is based at Station Road, Hesketh Bank, PR4 6SP.
