COMMUNITY Link Foundation is going to be one of the main sponsors of a fantastic festival organised by a local group.

The Learning Rooms is holding D Fest in Lydiate in September and applied to Community Link Foundation for funding towards the music festival.

The festival is not just for the clients of the Learning Rooms, but for people from all over the North West living with a disability.

The Learning Rooms is situated in Four Seasons garden centre in Liverpool Road, Birkdale, and it provides a day service for adults with learning difficulties, disabilities and additional needs.

It is a non profit, CIC organisation run by Ruth Wareing and it currently has a client base of 42 people aged between 18 and 65.

The festival which be held at Oaklea Barns, Lydiate, on September 23 will enable clients to access a music festival environment in a safe and supported environment.

The headline act for the festival is UK Bjorn, an Abba tribute band, who will be supported by talented local groups and solo artists covering a wide genre of music.

There will also be crazy golf, karaoke, face painting, hook-a-duck, coconut shies, refreshments and much more.

The event will be non-profit making, with any profits that are made, being used towards next year’s festival.

Enda Rylands, chairman of Community Link Foundation, said: “This is going to be a great event organised by the Learning Rooms and we are delighted to be supporting the festival.

“We have previously supported them so we know what a great organisation they are and what great work they do in the community.

“This festival sounds like it’s going to be a wonderful event to benefit people across the region, and we look forward to seeing it be a huge success.”

Community Link Foundation has previously supported the Learning Rooms and the valuable work that it does in the community.

The Learning Rooms has a café with garden and small animal section, florist and gift shop open to the public and the organisation supports the service users to run these as their own business.
