Help us design a garden of remembrance

-

AHOSPITAL is asking bereaved parents for ideas about how to design and build a remembrance garden at Ormskirk Hospital.

Anyone with an interest in helping is invited to a planning conversation and consultation at Ormskirk hospital next Tuesday, May 15, meeting at the main reception.

Refreshments will be provided between 6pm and 6.30pm.

The bereavement focus group at Ormskirk Hospital is a multi-disciplinary group involving bereaved parents, midwives, specialist nurses, the bereavement service, doctors and chaplaincy and spiritual care.

Trust chaplain the Rev Martin Abrams said: “The ideas and thoughts of bereaved parents are being particularly encouraged.

“As part of the development of some gardens into quiet spaces with remembrance areas, we are asking for help with designing a baby and child remembrance garden at Ormskirk Hospital.

“We plan for work on the garden to soon begin, with its completion anticipated during the summer period.”

The garden development is part of the new patient charter which includes further enhancing the patient experience.

Support for developing and maintaining the gardens is being given by the West Lancashire Freemasons.

For further information on the plans, contact Rev Martin Abrams 01704 704639.
