Taster sessions for all ages to get in the swing

-

COME and try a different sport that is suitable for all the family, young or old, and also have the opportunity to gain new friends and get a bit of gentle exercise.

Ormskirk Bowling Club has been up and running for just over two years and is opening its doors to anyone that would like to come and try crown green bowls on its fantastic new artificial and grass bowling greens.

Simple to learn but a bit more difficult to master, bowls is the ideal sport for all ages that anyone can try.

Free taster sessions are being run on Thursday, May 24 and Thursday, May 31 starting at 7pm – attend one or both sessions and no booking is necessary.

No special equipment is needed – all you need to bring is a pair of trainers to play in.

For those that enjoy it there will be further coaching sessions held.

The club is located at the back of Ormskirk Cricket Club, off Altys Lane, Ormskirk, and there is plenty of parking available.

The Club also runs junior bowling sessions on Thursdays at 6pm and anyone aged between 7-16 is welcome to come and have a go – it is free for the first session.

Ian Gill, the Club’s Coach and Secretary said: “We have already had quite a few beginners of all ages join our club and as we are a new club it is a fantastic way to meet new people and enjoy a new sport.

Bring the whole family along and have a go – most people who play always say they wish they had taken it up at a younger age.”
