Police appeal over carjacking gun terror

-

A MAN reportedly had two guns pointed at his face during a shocking carjacking in Skelmersdale.

Lancashire police have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward after what is believed to be a targeted robbery.

Police said that the victim arranged to meet two men at the Allied Business Centre in Potter Place, Skelmersdale at 4.30pm on Tuesday, May 29.

The men got into his vehicle – a silver Land Rover Discovery - and threatened him with firearms, while a third man waited outside.

The victim pushed the guns away and managed to escape before the men fled the scene in his car.

Two men have since been charged with robbery and remanded in custody in connection with this incident, to appear at crown court on July 3.

A third has been released under investigation.

Det Con Louise Rigby said: “As the victim ran away from his vehicle, he flagged down a woman who was passing in her vehicle, which can only be described as a small car.

“We would really like to speak to this woman who may be able to help with our investigation.

“There was also a TNT van seen in the area around the time of the offence, and we are keen to speak to the driver.

“Fortunately incidents such as this are rare but none the less very frightening for the victim.

“We believe this was a targeted robbery and we are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the offence.

“If you were in the Pimbo Road area around 4:30pm on May 29, or can help us to identify the female motorist or TNT driver, please get in touch.”
