Cops hunt gang over ‘stabbing’ of man, 25

A25-YEAR-OLD man was rushed to hospital after being allegedly stabbed in the torso and ear.

The incident took place on Thursday, June 14 on Beechtrees, in Skelmersda­le, at about 9.15pm.

Lancashire police were called by an ambulance crew to a report of a man being stabbed.

It was reported that someone approached the victim, who was from Burnley, and stabbed him in his torso and ear.

Officers investigat­ing the incident believe it to be a group attack, and are appealing to the public for informatio­n regarding what they are describing as the “serious assault.”

The victim was given medical attention for wounds to his back and was taken to Aintree University Hospital by ambulance.

The extent of his injuries and his condition are not known at this stage. Anyone with informatio­n, or who has CCTV on their property and lives nearby, is urged to contact Lancashire police via 101 quoting reference number LC-20180814-1611.
