It has been reported that a car containing four men in balaclavas pulled up alongside a white Transit van.

One of the occupants of the car discharged a gun, which Lancashire police believe to be a pistol, at the van a number of times.

He added: “If you have any information that could assist with our investigation, please get in touch.”

Anyone who has any information can approach a local police officer, or call 101, quoting incident reference 1809 of July 7.

Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org
