Ready, bready, go for summer of fun
ORMSKIRK’S third Gingerbread Festival is set to be an appetising start to a summer of fun.
The Gingerbread Festival, organised by Ormskirk Community Partnership (OCP) and West Lancashire Borough Council, supported by the Ormskirk Town Centre Management Group and local businesses, will be held on Sunday, July 15, 11am-5pm.
Visitors can enjoy gingerbread decorating, cookery demonstrations, plenty of artisan and craft stalls, live music, and street food.
There will also be a preview of some of the cars coming up at MotorFest which will be coming up in August.
John Harrison, director of development and regeneration at West Lancashire Borough Council said: “The Gingerbread Festival is a fantastic event that local families really enjoy.
“It’s great to see everyone coming together enjoying what Ormskirk town centre can offer.”
Throughout the day there will be children’s’ entertainment from Mr Stix, Circus entertainers provided by Edge Hill University, and vintage games. There is something on offer for all ages.
Ormskirk Community Partnership (OCP) and local historical groups will be in Church Street with displays of photographs and maps of Ormskirk from different eras, as well as other heritage materials on show.
Dave Mutch from Ormskirk Community Partnership said “It is great to see Ormskirk’s Gingerbread Festival grow over the last couple of years.
“It will be a wonderful event for all the family, so come along and take part in the festivities and enjoy all the entertainment on offer.”
There is free parking in all council car parks in Ormskirk every, Sunday.
