NHS group welcomes ‘good’ rating
NHS West Lancashire has been rated as “good”, the second highest rating available.
The rating made this week by NHS England in its annual assessment praised the progress the CCG has made in:
It’s work around cancer, dementia, diabetes and mental health.
The continued excellent relationship with Southport and Formby CCG, strong working relationship with Southport and Ormskirk NHS Hospital Trust and Lancashire Care Foundation Trust.
Delivering its financial plan for 2017/18 despite some unexpected pressures in the year.
It also acknowledged the challenges faced by the CCG in the year ahead including to further develop the work on cancer screening and 62-day diagnosis, mental health work specifically around children and young people and preparedness for next winter.
Mike Maguire, chief officer at NHS West Lancashire CCG, said: “I am very proud of the team here at the CCG for their hard work and dedication in ensuring that we achieved our ‘good’ rating, which is an improvement over the previous 12 months’ rating.
“I am well aware that as a CCG we face a number of challenges in the year ahead to ensure that we provide the best health and social care for the people of West Lancashire, but as an organisation we are prepared for this challenge.”
