Dads treated to slap-up breakfast
AFTER their successful Mother’s Day celebration, Orchard Crow primary school in Skelmersdale decided to treat some of their dads.
This was in the form of a Father’s Day Breakfast.
The turnout was amazing and the hall was full of dads waiting to be spoilt.
The invitation included male carers and they even had some grandads. At first it was quite funny, because they went in and many were on their phones.
This was until Mrs Johnson, who had organised the event alongside Mrs Murray, Mrs Nicholson and other trusty helpers, told them in no uncertain way to put their phones away.
Soon everyone was chatting away and things really started to get going when the bacon butties and cups of tea and coffee were provided.
The children whose dads attended had the opportunity to go into the hall and spend time with them.
They also had the opportunity to make things for their guests.
There were lots of gifts which had been made up and all the children in the school were able to buy things to take home for their dads.
Steve Brookes, one of the dads, said: “This was a fantastic idea.
“I really enjoyed this morning, spending time with my daughter in her school environment, doing crafts, activities and having breakfast.
“It also provided the opportunity to meet other parents/ carers in a relaxed setting.
“Mrs Johnson and the other organisers did a brilliant job organising this event, which has highlighted the value of fathers and male carers, and it wasn’t a bad brew either!”
