Housebuilder supports popular archery club

-

BURSCOUGH Archery Club has received funding to train two new coaches, thanks to leading homebuilder Taylor Wimpey North West.

The club, which is located near to Taylor Wimpey’s Briars Lock development, plays an important part in the community, running a range of classes for all ages and encouraging outdoor activity amongst local people.

The donation will help the club to meet the growing demand they have for weekend and summer activities for adults and children.

Roy Samples, club secretary and coach at Burscough Archers, said: “Thanks to this generous donation we will be able to run more sessions and involve more people in the club and introduce them to archery.

“A new Archery for Beginners course will run from early September.

“It’s great to see Taylor Wimpey giving back to the local community and I would like to say a huge thank-you for helping to encourage people into the sport and helping them stay active.”

Stuart Craig, head of sales at Taylor Wimpey North West, added: “We’re more than happy to help fund training for new coaches at Burscough Archers.

“The work they do to encourage outdoor activity is vital for the area and helps to bring the community together.

“Our Briars Lock development is situated close to the club and lots of our residents will now be able to take advantage of the services that the archery club can offer, thanks to the newly-trained coaches.”

Briars Lock is Taylor Wimpey’s North West’s latest development and will feature 66 homes available in a variety of styles, including the four-bedroom detached Shelford, perfect for growing families and the Dadford, a three-bedroom semi-detached home, which is ideal for first-time buyers.

Stuart concludes: “We hope that all of the members and guests will benefit from the donation and look forward to seeing more of the local community getting active.”
