AN award-winning fish and chip shop has opened in Burscough. Fylde Fish Bar officially opened its third branch in Ringtail Retail Park on August 2, after hosting a VIP launch on July 22.

The new eatery has been opened by Jodie and Banico Zeniou, who already run two branches of Fylde Fish Bar in Southport.

The 60-seat restaurant offers a large variety of meals, available to either take away or eat in.

Jodie said: “Designing and planning this flagship shop has taken many months to ensure that both design and layout are of the highest quality and standard.

“The shop has been rebranded and (the Burscough branch) is now known as Fylde Fish and Chips.”

As well as fish and chips, the licensed shop offers a range of other seafood options, including grilled fish and oven baked dishes.

Jodie said: “Banico and I are passionate about our food so we decided to add some new dishes to the Fylde brand and have some tasty small plates – halloumi, dips and olives, calamari and fish balls to name a few.”

As a result of the opening, the couple now employs almost 80 full-time and part-time staff.

Fylde have an accolade of awards and look forward to Burscough being part of the enterprise.

The Marshside shop has been named as one the top 60 fish and chips shops in the country, and Jodie and Banico hope to bring back the title of Best Fish and Chips Takeaway as part of the 2019 National Fish and Chip Awards.

Speaking of the new opening, Jodie said: “We are thrilled that the local community has supported us since we opened and look forward to welcoming both our regular and new customers to join us for the experience of award-winning fish and chips.”
