Pop kids launch charity single

-

THE CD Music Academy has unleashed the talent of a local children’s pop group, Kaleidoscope, who have launched their first single in aid of Make-AWish UK.

The group of six girls, aged eight to 11, are all vocal students at the CD Music Academy based in Rufford. They all live within a radius of 10 miles of each other.

The group consists of Amy, eight, Phoebe, nine, Molly, 10, Maddy, 10, Milly, 11, and Keira, 11, who met when the children’s choir was set up.

They rehearse as a group twice a week which includes private lessons with Caroline Darbyshire and they have a choreographer to help with their dance routine, ready for their Make A Wish release.

The group were invited by Anthea Thomas, who runs Changing Events, to perform at The Bold Hotel, in Southport, in aid of Make-A-Wish UK. Caroline decided to write a song for the charity and give the children an experience they’d never had before of what it would be like to record and video an original song in a studio.

The song has now been recorded and they’ve made a video, called Make A Wish.

All the money from the CDs, fundraising at local events, Spotify and iTunes sales from now until Christmas will be donated to Make-A-Wish UK.

The group will also be holding a fundraising event, at The Croft Social Club, 38, City Road, Walton, Liverpool, L4 5TE on Saturday, October 6, from 7.15pm – admission is £5 pay on the door, plus a raffle.
