Come and help park look special
FAMILIES are being invited to shape Tawd Valley Park, in Skelmersdale, into a real haven for people and wildlife.
West Lancashire Borough Council’s parks and countryside rangers team has organised a rolling programme of activities, called Team Tawd Eco Days, where you can learn new skills in a friendly social environment.
Activities vary with the seasons, but will include: woodland management, vegetation control, environmental improvements, path clearance and creation, pond clearance and maintenance, orchard creation and hedgerow creation.
Sessions currently run from 10am each Friday and, from October 6, the first Saturday of each month.
Anyone interested in joining in should meet at the turning circle at the end of Summer Street, Skelmersdale WN8 6XJ.
Director of leisure and environment Heidi McDougall said: “Come along and help the rangers keep Tawd Valley Park looking its best. We would love to see you.”
It is important to arrive promptly as activity locations will vary from the meeting point.
Participants should wear suitable wet weather-resistant clothing and robust footwear.
