Amazing scenes down in Pumpkin Alley
PUMPKIN Alley in Downholland has opened its newest spooky attraction.
The Jackolantern Maze was entered for the first time, and it will be running all the way through to Hallowe’en.
The brains behind the maze, Ann-Marie Appleton, said: “We do the pick your own pumpkins which is quite an American thing, and they also do quite a lot of these corn mazes along with the pick your own pumpkins.
“So we thought we’d try another traditional American Hallowe’en thing with the corn maze.”
She added: “In the middle section it has a cauldron, and the maze itself is designed to look like the face of a pumpkin from above which is why we called it the Jackolantern Maze.”
The maze is open to all at the end of the pumpkinpicking day.
Ann-Marie said: “We open it at 5pm each day because we do the pick your own pumpkins from 10 to five so when that closes we open the maze until 7pm.
“But for half-term week we’re going to be running it until 8 o’clock.”
Ann Marie hopes that the maze will give children too young to got to Farmaggedon something to enjoy.
The maze costs £5 for a family of five, and visitors also receive a free pumpkin at the end.
The Jackolantern Maze is at Pumpkin Alley, Downholland, L39 7JJ.
