Dealer stopped by police had heroin and crack cocaine in car
A DRUG dealer has been jailed for three years after police found him carrying heroin and crack cocaine.
Connor MeVey, of Cawthorne Avenue, was arrested when police stopped a car in High Street, Skelmersdale, on September 21.
The 22-year-old was in the rear of the vehicle and, when searched at Skelmersdale Police Station, was found to be carrying the Class A drugs.
McVey pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court last week to two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A controlled drugs.
He was sentenced to three years in prison and an order was made for forfeiture of the drugs and cash.
PC Jess Spencer, of Lancashire Constabulary’s South Division Target Team, said: “This is an excellent result for the community of Skelmersdale and once again shows that the supply of controlled substances into the area by criminals from neighbouring counties will not be tolerated by the public or the police.
“South Division officers will continue to proactively target those committing organised crime in our area and will act on any information given to the police.”
Police are also urging anyone with information about organised or drug related crime to can contact them anonymously by calling 101 or using Crimestoppers on 0800 555 11.
