Add a string to your bow

-

BURSCOUGH Archers will be hosting another free session for anyone who has ever wanted to try the sport.

No prior experience is needed to take part in this fun event and there’s no age limit: if you can hold a bow you can have a go.

It will be held indoors at Asmall House Livery Stables in Asmall Lane, Ormskirk, on Saturday, March 16, from 1pm to 4pm.

The archers say they have an experienced team of coaches, well used to working with and getting the best out of “raw beginners”.

With the success of last year’s event, with more than 100 participants, the archers have expanded their coaching team to include two extra coaches whose training programme was sponsored by builder Taylor Wimpey with a grant from its local community fund.

Further details of the Have-a-Go session are on the Burscough Archers website at http://burscougharchers.org.uk.

This club has archers from Tarleton, Rufford, Southport, Maghull, Aughton and Skelmersdale as well as large contingents from Burscough and Ormskirk.

One recruit from last year’s Have-a-Go session said: “I was impressed by the standard of tuition and the friendly and welcoming nature of the club’s coaches and members, which helped me to feel at ease and enjoy the experience.

“I enjoy both the personal and technical challenges of trying to improve my shooting ability. It gives me a real buzz!”
