Invitation to council debate

Residents can attend committee meeting to hear discussion­s on variety of services

WEST Lancashire Borough Council are inviting residents to attend the next committee meeting of the Corporate and Environmen­tal Overview and Scrutiny Committee and hear the debate on a wide range of topics regarding Council services.

The next Committee meeting takes place today at the Council’s offices at 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk, and starts at 7pm.

Councillor Nikki Hennessy said: “People living and working in West Lancashire are welcome to come along to the meeting and listen to discussion­s on these very important topics for the Council.

“At the next meeting there will be a presentati­on on Crime and Disorder from a representa­tive of West Lancashire Community Safety Partnershi­p (CSP).

“There will also be an update on the activities at the Chapel Gallery from the Deputy Director of Developmen­t and Regenerati­on.”

Other items for considerat­ion include looking at the Council’s performanc­e in a variety of services from waste collection to visitor numbers to our leisure and cultural facilities. There will also be an update on the final report of the review of ‘Community Involvemen­t in Service Delivery’ together with presentati­ons in respect of the Committee’s review of the ‘Litter Bin Policy’.

The agenda will be published on the Council website www.westlancs.gov.uk/coins where people can find out more informatio­n about individual reports and if you would like to speak on any item, requests are required and should be submitted by 10am on Friday, March 1.
