A LORRY driver died after crashing into a concrete pole on a country lane last Tuesday.

The driver, a 54-yearold man from Kent, was taken to Southport Hospital with serious injuries after crashing into the pole on Renacres Lane in Halsall.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Emergency services were sent to the scene at about 7.30am, with police, an ambulance and an air ambulance all in attendance.

“We do not believe any other vehicles were involved in the collision but we continue to work to establish the full circumstances.

“If you saw the collision, or saw the vehicle in the moments before it happened, please let us know.”

Anybody with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log number 183 of March 5.
