Skem desperate to come home
BURSCOUGH believe their chances of re-signing Chad Whyte are slim after the striker left Joe Doran’s Bootle following less than half-a-season at Vesty Road last week.
Whyte departed Victoria Park in the summer, scoring more than 60 goals in a twoyear association with Linnets.
He bagged 35 of them last term but following the surprise exit of former manager Terry Green at the end of the season, the former Marine forward joined NWCFL Premier Division runners-up Bootle.
“Disappointed with how my time at Bootle has ended but that’s football!” Whyte wrote on social media.
“Great club with even better fans, wish them all the best for promotion! Onto the next challenge.”
Whyte had been left out of Bootle’s last four matchday squads after Burscough registered their transfer interest in the forward.
Manager Nick Matthews would be keen on adding the forward to his ranks but it is currently understood he is likely to join Ryan Cox - who also exited Bootle last week - at NWCFL First
SKELMERSDALE United remain frustrated over their stadium move to JMO Sports Park.
United released a statement in September confirming planning permission had been approved after being exiled in Prescot - stadium sharing with Cables at Valerie Park - since 2017 after a dispute over their traditional Uretek Stadium home.

There was hope from inside the club during pre-season that a move to the JMO would be completed early in the campaign but United’s fixtures are currently being rearranged due to clashes with Prescot.
The Blues were scheduled to welcome Avro this weekend yet with Pickering Town visiting Cables on the same afternoon, they now face a trip to Greater Manchester.
United’s next Saturday home game is in mid-November against Hanley Town with Prescot away to Pontefract Collieries on the same afternoon.
