Make sure you have your vote
RESIDENTS who want to have their say in the General Election are being urged to make sure they are registered to vote.
Anyone already registered does not need to register to vote again for the election on Thursday, December 12.
If in doubt, call West Lancashire Borough Council’s Elections Office on 01695 585014.
Anyone needing to register can do so at www. gov.uk/register-to-vote.

People who do not have internet access should ask the council’s elections office for a paper registration form.
The closing date to register is Tuesday, November 26.
Jacqui Sinnott-Lacey, electoral registration and returning officer, said: “It is important that people have their say who represents them on a national and local level.
“If you live in West Lancashire make sure you are registered to vote, and your details on the electoral roll are correct, so you can vote in this General Election.”
Anyone who cannot get to their polling station on the day then can apply for a postal vote, or for a proxy vote, where someone you nominate can go to vote on their behalf. To ask for a postal or proxy vote application form call or email the Elections Office, download one from www. westlancs.gov.uk/howtovote, or call in to the Council Offices, 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk.
Completed postal vote application forms must reach arrive by 5pm on Tuesday, November 26, and proxy vote forms must arrive by 5pm on Wednesday, December 4.
Emergency proxy votes at this election can be applied for where physical incapacity occurred or work/service reasons occurred after 5pm on Wednesday, December 4, and must reach the electoral registration officer at the council offices by 5pm on Thursday, December 12.
