We’re well stacked to go all out on the attack says striker Emini
EMINI Adegbenro is excited by the attacking options at Skelmersdale United after his impressive start to life under Paul McNally.
Adegbenro joined United in October from NWCFL Premier Division rivals Congleton Town after bagging 16 goals last term.
He has since scored four in seven appearances and believes with Joshua Klein-Davies, on dualregistration from Prescot Cables, as well as Tom Croughan and Richard Brodie, the Blues are well stocked offensively.
“We’ve got plenty of decent options up-top,” former AFC Liverpool striker Adegbenro said following his strike in the dramatic 3-3 draw with Squires Gate last time out following the postponement of Saturday’s clash at Whitchurch Alport.
“Josh and Tom, they started (against Squires Gate) and they both deserved it.
“Tom provided the assist for my goal and Josh had two top finishes. Brodie then came on and helped us and changed the game. We’ve got plenty of options in attack and it’s just a case of us staying fit and staying sharp.
“When we get our chances we have to put it away.”
Klein-Davies is looking to build match fitness at Skelmersdale after a move to Widnes in the summer failed to work out.
He has since re-signed for Prescot Cables and subsequently penned dual terms at United and showed his class with a brace against Squires Gate.
“I think anyone can beat anyone in this league,” he said as United look to push away from the relegation zone, starting with today’s visit of Burscough.
“I think (Longridge Town) were top (when the two sides met at the beginning of December) and we lost 1-0 and then this week we did alright (against Squires Gate).
“I don’t think there’s any reason to fear anyone. We’ll go into the game with loads of confidence and we’ll go from there.”
On his own future at Skelmersdale the striker added: “I think the main thing is to be playing, getting as fit as I can and scoring as many goals as I can. Then we’ll go from there.”
