Burn off calories... and get Ravin’ Fit
FOR anyone looking for a unique way of burning off all the Christmas calories, Ravin’ Fit is returning to Ormskirk.
Hosted by Radio City presenter and DJ Lee Butler, the event is managed by In Demand Music and will take place at Ormskirk School on Wigan Road on Friday, February 10.
The concept of bringing the club to the gym with a full stage show including big club anthems, pumping sound system and lights and effects was Lee’s idea.
He said: “Ravin’ Fit was born out of the love for a rave and the desire to get fit and healthy.
“I knew that so many people want to get in shape but feel uncomfortable going into a gym.
‘‘I also felt that there are so many people know who have family or work commitments and just don’t get a chance to go out and rave to the music they love.
“So at Ravin’ Fit you can do both. It’s a workout that feels like a night out. You get the whole night out feel, all the amazing club classics plus you burn calories while having fun. We really do try and bring the club to the gym.”
Personal trainer Antonia pushes participants through a 60-minute workout with the aim of burning more than 750 calories.
The class launched in early 2018 and has since welcomed more than 10,000 Ravin’ Fitters to more than 150 classes in the North West.
A spokesperson for the team said: “Ravin’ Fit is the most fun, exhilarating work out there is. It’s so much more than a recreational fitness class.
“Our workouts are carefully created and structured to ensure that every muscle group is targeted, within the one hour workout. No muscle fibre goes untouched.
“We incorporate multiple training principles when choreographing our routines, including interval training and body weighted exercises, focusing on strength and conditioning.
“The track list you experience at every Ravin’ Fit event is purposefully created to ensure that each participant is able to achieve this.”
All instructors are highly experienced, qualified fitness instructors and personal trainers which have developed workouts to cater for all levels of fitness from beginners to hard core fanatics.
While participants are encouraged to push limits and go beyond comfort zones there are also plenty of variations and modified exercise options, allowing everyone to enjoy the workout.
A spokesperson said: “The sessions are fully inclusive and provide a welcoming environment for all participants. Our venues are carefully selected to ensure that our highly skilled tech crew are able to install our exceptional sound and lighting systems to provide you with that all important, unique club night atmosphere.”
The class runs from 7pm to 8pm with the minimum age of participation 16.
Early Raver tickets have now sold out, however there are still standard tickets available for £9.05.
