He said: “We drove past the college and saw it all boarded up so we randomly stopped and had a look around. It was a bit creepy really, walking around in an old school. It had a lot of fire damage from vandalism afterwards as it’s been closed for years.

“It was surreal because the school had basically been left as it was with a lot of things still there like tables, books, paper.

“It was like being taken back in time and walking into some rooms as they were left on the day it closed. Some people would probably find walking around an abandoned college too creepy but other people like me love to explore abandoned places.

“All old school fields surrounding it are overgrown and there are overgrown bushes too. It’s pretty creepy. It reminded me of how Chernobyl looks.

“I’ve got a passion for taking pictures and bringing history back to life. I’ve got a Facebook page which I post all my pictures on when I go exploring abandoned places like this.

“It’s nice that my photos bring happiness to people by bringing memories of forgotten places that they otherwise wouldn’t have seen for years like schools, churches or old houses.”

The old college site was next to the former Glenburn Sports College, which closed in 2016.

Newcastle College Group, the owner of the buildings, has been approached for comment.
