Chiefs bang heads together at college

-

SKELMERSDALE Police joined together with colleagues from Lancashire Fire and Rescue and North West Ambulance Service, alongside the local council and community and faith based groups, to discuss ways of working together effectively for the good of the public.

This week’s event at Hope Theatre in West Lancashire College encouraged members of the community to attend to discuss any issues they face, and how we can all work together to create a safer Skelmersdale to live, work and visit.

Geographic Inspector of West Lancashire Police Ellie Kanoun said: “It’s important that we work with the local community to find out what their key issues are and look at ways of working together to resolve them.”

Clive Grunshaw, Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner added: “I am committed to listening and engaging with the public to understand their concerns and issues and ensure that Lancashire Police is meeting their needs.

“A lot of the concerns that the people of Lancashire raise with me are not isolated to policing and often touch upon other issues including the health service and other local authorities.

“That is why events like this are crucial, bringing partners together and offering the best opportunity to tackle some of the issues that are raised.

“I regularly consult the public on their policing priorities, with this input an important part of the creation of my Police and Crime Plan.

“Having made £86m of savings made since 2010 and more still to find, it is even more important to ensure that our plans meet operational needs and dealing with issues that matter to people.”
