Coffee shop gets a taste for town

-

SKELMERSDALE could soon have its very own blend of coffee when a new café opens at The Concourse Shopping Centre.

Siesta Coffee is to open its fourth outlet in the town after agreeing a 10-year lease for unit 110, a 1,343sq ft space on the ground floor of the shopping centre, adjacent to the Domino’s pizza chain outlet.

Ryan Stainsby and his father Gary, the directors of Siesta Coffee, said that they were excited to bring the brand to Skelmersdale, complementing its existing coffee shop in Bootle New Strand Station, and two in County Durham – Newton Aycliffe, and Peterlee, which is due to open in the spring/summer.

Ryan said: “The new shop heralds another exciting chapter in the growth story of Siesta Coffee and we’re looking forward to bringing our unique blends to the Concourse Shopping Centre.

“We will be manufacturing our own beans at the Aycliffe site, using our very own designated roaster, and we will be rolling out signature pieces and touches for every branch, so it will be a unique experience wherever you go.”

The news of Siesta Coffee’s arrival comes just weeks after Poundland opened a bigger store in the centre, cementing its commitment to retailing in the town.

Fitting is expected to start immediately on transforming the unit into a coffee shop, with an anticipated opening in the spring.

Gary Mitchell, centre manager, said: “It’s great to welcome another great leisure facility to the Concourse Shopping Centre, on top of the growing retail offer here, and it’s good news for our customers.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming Siesta Coffee.”
