Arson probe after truck set alight
AN ARSON investigation was launched after a truck was set on fire outside a football club.
The tipper truck went up in flames at around 3am last Thursday (August 6) in suspicious circumstances.
It had been parked outside Bickerstaffe Football Club on Intake Lane and a joint investigation is being carried out by
Lancashire’s police and fire services.
A spokesman for
Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said: “Firefighters from Ormskirk and
Skelmersdale were called to reports of a vehicle fire on Intake Lane, Bickerstaffe. On arrival they found the fire located on the car park of Bickerstaffe Football Club.
“The fire involved a commercial tipper truck which crews extinguished ... The cause of the fire is now under joint investigation alongside colleagues from the police.”
