Mayor says thanks to vol­un­teers

WEST Lan­cashire mayor Cllr Ter­ence Aldridge has met the Orm­skirk Am­bas­sadors to thank them for their hard work and ser­vices to the town cen­tre.

The com­mu­nity group have been vol­un­teer­ing their time to en­sure res­i­dents and vis­i­tors feel safe and in­formed when re­turn­ing to the mar­ket.

They are also act­ing as a point of con­tact for any­one who has ques­tions about stay­ing safe when out and about.

Orm­skirk Com­mu­nity Part­ner­ship chair­man Dave Mutch said: “Orm­skirk Am­bas­sadors has given us a chance to meet and greet and wel­come peo­ple to Orm­skirk town cen­tre on mar­ket days.

“As peo­ple come out of lock­down we want peo­ple to feel safe and re­laxed and en­joy the new mar­ket lay­out.”

Bor­ough coun­cil leader Cllr Ian Mo­ran said: “For res­i­dents who may have been pre­vi­ously iso­lat­ing at home, the Orm­skirk

Am­bas­sadors of­fer an es­sen­tial friendly face for those who may need help or sup­port.

“They are an ex­cel­lent ex­am­ple of the won­der­ful com­mu­nity spirit we see here in Orm­skirk.”
