Fi­nally, Skem Player of the Year awards go to United’s Ben and Alex

AF­TER the 2019/20 sea­son ended with a ‘null and void’ out­come in early March, Skelmers­dale United’s monthly awards for the March and April be­come the awards for the JDP Player of the Year with the plan be­ing to award to the win­ner and run­ner-up once pos­si­ble.

The vot­ing to­tals were tal­lied up from across sea­son – and the out­come sees joint win­ners of the award as goal­keeper Ben Barnes and reign­ing JDP POTY and mid­fielder Alex Grif­fiths both scooped 32 votes.

The duo won the monthly award three times be­tween them dur­ing the sea­son with Alex winning the sea­son opener in Au­gust be­fore Ben won con­sec­u­tive awards in Oc­to­ber & Novem­ber.
