Horrorfest off for the year due to Covid
THIS year’s horrorfest at Farmaggedon has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The annual scare attraction near Downholland in Lancashire was due to return this October to the site occupied by children’s attraction Farmer Ted’s during the summer months.
Farmer Ted’s has reopened after lockdown with earlier closing times.
However, bosses said the opening of the scarefest isn’t safe for their audience and actors to go ahead with the event in the current circumstances.
In a statement, Farmaggedon said: “It is with much regret, but in the interest of public health and safety that Farmaggedon 2020 will not be opening its doors this coming October.
“We feel it would be impossible to keep our actors and audience safe during the current pandemic.
“We feel that if the event could be altered to meet current guidelines, even then we wouldn’t be providing our best service.
“This is the first time in 14 years that Farmaggedon has not brought fear and screams to our reaching communities throughout October.
“We will be back to survive and thrive in 2021 and look forward to hearing your screams.
“Stay safe, wear a mask, keep out of harm’s way.”
In a separate comment they added: “The team here at Farmaggedon have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.
“We will be using our time moving forward to plan and focus on Farmaggedon’s 2021 event and can’t wait to welcome you back to our scream-filled event when it is safe to do so!
“We love you all, your safety is paramount and we look forward to seeing you in your nightmares!”
