Warm-up is perfect for FA Cup date

SKEM rattled four past Prescot Cables in their last friendly outing before their FA Cup clash this weekend.

United didn’t get going until the second half but took charge of the match after the 63rd minute opener, with goals on 71, 75 and one more just before time.

The weekend saw a 5-2 win over St Helens Town, with Brodie opening the scoring before St Helens scored twice to go ahead. But Alex Davies struck either side of a Saints own goal to make it 4-2, and sealed his hat-trick in the 81st minute.

Congleton Town host United in this Saturday’s FA Cup Preliminar­y Round match (3pm).

In the FA Youth Cup, 92 supporters turned out to see Skem U18s thrash Runcorn Town U18s 6-0 with goals coming from Donohue (2), Dainty (2), Feeley and Niblock.
