Skem set to face Bootle after win in FA Cup clash

SKEM Utd have drawn a plumb tie against Bootle in the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA Cup after beating Congleton at the weekend.

Monday’s draw will see them host the Berry Street Garage Sstdium side for a fierce local derby on Tuesday, September 22.

Skelmersda­le United and Bootle met three times last season with a 1-1 draw early in the league campaign before a controvers­ial 2-1 win for United in February which was sadly taken off the records and a week later, Bootle triumphed 3-1 in the Liverpool Senior Cup at the Berry Street Garage Stadium.

The tie will be the first time the two sides have met in the competitio­n and will be the first of two meetings in the space of a month with United due to visit Bootle in the NWCFL Premier Division on October 13.

SKEM United will also be in cup action this coming Saturday when they face Stockport Town in the FA Vase.

Town have had among their ranks one Robbie Savage, he of Premier League and Radio fame, but he has played just once.

The game kicks off at the One Call Stadium@JMO at 3pm, admission £6 adults, £4 concession­s and Children under 16 £1.

There will be a limit on the gate of 300 and supporters are asked to adhere to Social Distancing rules and regulation­s as set out by the FA and the Government.
