Skem set to face Boo­tle af­ter win in FA Cup clash

SKEM Utd have drawn a plumb tie against Boo­tle in the 1st Qual­i­fy­ing Round of the FA Cup af­ter beat­ing Con­gle­ton at the week­end.

Mon­day’s draw will see them host the Berry Street Garage Sst­dium side for a fierce lo­cal derby on Tues­day, Septem­ber 22.

Skelmers­dale United and Boo­tle met three times last sea­son with a 1-1 draw early in the league cam­paign be­fore a con­tro­ver­sial 2-1 win for United in Fe­bru­ary which was sadly taken off the records and a week later, Boo­tle tri­umphed 3-1 in the Liver­pool Se­nior Cup at the Berry Street Garage Sta­dium.

The tie will be the first time the two sides have met in the com­pe­ti­tion and will be the first of two meet­ings in the space of a month with United due to visit Boo­tle in the NWCFL Premier Di­vi­sion on Oc­to­ber 13.

SKEM United will also be in cup ac­tion this com­ing Satur­day when they face Stock­port Town in the FA Vase.

Town have had among their ranks one Rob­bie Sav­age, he of Premier League and Ra­dio fame, but he has played just once.

The game kicks off at the One Call Sta­dium@JMO at 3pm, ad­mis­sion £6 adults, £4 con­ces­sions and Chil­dren un­der 16 £1.

There will be a limit on the gate of 300 and sup­port­ers are asked to ad­here to So­cial Dis­tanc­ing rules and reg­u­la­tions as set out by the FA and the Govern­ment.
