Skem set to face Lancaster City next in FA Cup
TWO huge home ties in the FA Cup so far this season will become a trilogy as Skelmersdale United have been drawn to face NPL side Lancaster City in the FA Cup Second Qualifying round.
Skem have met the ‘Dolly Blues’ just once in the competition – with a 4-1 home defeat in the First Qualifying round back in the 1979-80 season.
The most recent meeting was a friendly a couple of seasons ago with City winning 1-0 but on a competitive level, the teams last met in the title-winning season of 2012-13 with United coming out on top both home and away in 3-2 wins.
Tickets were being snapped up for Saturday’s match (3pm) earlier this week.
Capacity is again capped to 250 due to Covid restrictions. Any tickets not sold were being made available later.
There will be no tickets available on the day, and no entry without a ticket. This again is due to the current risk assessment guidelines.
Skelmersdale United says that from the Lancaster game onwards it will be displaying the official NHS QR code posters at the turnstile entrances to help support contact tracing.
All clubs are now required by law to use the new NHS Covid-19 app.
New NHS QR posters – specific to each club – will be displayed to offer a quick, simple and secure way for supporters and visitors to register that they’ve been to the ground. This will help NHS Test and Trace to identify and notify people who may have been exposed to the virus.
Players, spectators, coaches, match officials, staff/volunteers and all other visitors to the site aged 16 and above must provide their details.

Clubs must also retain a backup manual paper system, for those who do not have an appropriate smartphone to scan the code.
Clubs have all been issued with an updated FAQ and COVID-19 guidance from the FA via the league.
