Time to focus on the 10K

-

This is the first week I’ve struggled to fit in my workouts.

First there was a half marathon - Stephen, not me.

Then there was a music concert - me, not Stephen.

Then there was the fact that I really hit a wall.

I talked before about my eating habits slipping again.

This week I got really frustrated because I’m still the same dress size and because my aches and pains are returning. This is a bit different. Because I’ve been working out, my mood and my energy levels have improved.

I’ve naturally become more active and taken more on than I used to.

In other words, I’m not sat on the couch all night every night.

The problem is my body can’t quite keep up yet and I’m getting sore again.

I was so disheartened that my healthy eating almost went out of the window completely.

I’ve learned this week that I’m definitely an emotional eater and I’ll have to really work to keep on top of that.

I’ve got a weigh in coming up.

As well as the measurements Stephen at Abbey Mill Fitness Club takes, I’m going to take a couple extra myself.

My hips are my widest part and it will help my motivation to know they are shrinking.

I also got a fitness band this week.

Now I’ve figured out how to work it, I can really start preparing for the 10K in August.

I plan to do short walks and gradually build up my distance then my speed.

The workouts at Abbey Mill are going well.

It’s a great gym with a friendly atmosphere.

It’s what’s going on outside the gym I need to work on to keep my motivation up and make sure I’m not just fit for 40, but fit for the 10K.
