Craft group delights

- David Campbell

enjoy the sale Shopping for Mother’s Day gifts was slightly easier this year thanks to the Bishopton Art Group putting their arts and crafts up for sale.

Their annual Spring gathering was held last week and was a major success with local artists and designers putting their work up on show.

With around 10 local artists and 10 crafts people exhibiting their work, there was a real diversity of work available.

Visitors were also given the chance to vote on what they thought was their favourite painting on shown and Hannah Kaciniel’s painting ‘Summer of Poppies’ came out on top .

Member of Bishopton Art and Crafts group, Ronnie Dukes, said: “We are grateful for everybody who came along to support the local artists and crafts people.

“It gives all the members of the group real encouragement to keep going.

“We look forward to putting on more events in the future.”

And for those tired out from all their shopping there was a great selection of cakes, teas and coffees on offer provided by the family and friends of some of the artists.
