Good news for fashion shops...but not for my debit card

-

My journey this week has given me something to think about.

Conspiracy theories are everywhere.

Among them is the belief that the diet industry wants to keep us fat.

I always felt that if I was ever going to get to a healthy weight, I’d need a diet club to do it.

For the last few weeks, I have been going it alone.

I’m considering my options when it comes to following a set diet plan and maybe joining another gym.

Meantime, I continue to build activity into my day where I can, and make healthy choices for meals and snacks. I’ve lost another 3lbs. I have noticed that much more often I’ve been wrapping leftovers and putting them in the fridge.

Leftovers used to be unheard of in my house.

I felt like a sweet treat one night and made a trip to the supermarket for the chocolate and marshmallows I was craving.

Almost a week later more than half the pack is still in the cupboard along with some of the chocolate and my Easter eggs.

Another rare occurrence.

Could it be that I can keep shedding the pounds by listening to my body, eating more sensible portions and continuing with the healthy choices?

As long as the scales keep reading lower at my fortnightly weigh-ins I’ll give it a try.

The good news is that I can see a waistline returning.

The bad news is that I am dangerously close to fitting into clothes from my favourite High Street store.

I haven’t been able to shop there for over a year.

I may have to ask someone to confiscate my debit card.
