Sean will go back to school for charity

-

STV weatherman Sean Batty is going back to the classroom next week to raise funds for the Children’s Appeal 2017 with schools in Renfrewshire.

Proud Buddie Sean is joining pupils and teachers at a string of fun events to raise vital cash for youngsters blighted by poverty.

The telly favourite, a former pupil of Castlehead High, said: “I have been a long time supporter and fundraiser for the STV Children’s Appeal, having cycled across the Western Isles and Northern Isles, competed in highland games, sporting events, baking contests and climbed Ben Nevis to raise money for Scotland’s children.

“Over the years, schools across the country have been some of the best fundraisers, so this year I’ll be doing something completely different by going on a fundraising tour of schools.

“I’ll be taking part in sports days, bushtucker trials, danceathons and sandcastle building, to name just a few things. I can’t wait to meet everyone and get involved in their different activities.”

The fun begins on Wednesday, May 17 at 9am at Woodlands Primary in Paisley, where Sean will join children and parents for ‘Breakfast and boogie with Batty’, starting at the breakfast club followed by a dance and Zumba session.

And at 10am at St Mary’s Primary, also in Paisley, he will join in with fundraising activities including tug of war, beat the goalie, a danceathon and, last but not least, a ‘Sean Batty hunt’ where children will look for hidden pictures of Sean around the school.

While between 11am - 12noon at Newmains Primary in Renfrew will be hosting a bake sale and a ‘Newmains Kiltwalk’ with a range of fun activities at pit stops along the route.
